Our journey from the Mekong Delta to Cambodia, took 3 days. It was a really good trip especially as we met some great people, saw floating markets, got our boat stuck in the river canals and river reeds, climbed across real monkey bridges, tried coconut candy, got bumped off the fast boat to Phnom Penh and so had to suffer the long haul and a slower putt putt, got drunk on beer Hoi - thanks James! And finally got our Cambodia visa's for free - yippee.
All in all, Vietnam was an experience, where the past is reflected in the present; an uphill struggle for economic stability and a constant rattle of ' good prie lady' can be heard at every turn.
VIETNAM SUMMARY
Highlights:
- Just the two of us way off the beaten track on our Motorbike (Russian
Minsk) touring the Northern part of Vietnam (great Homestay too - Mai Chau).
- Chillin in Hoi An (Great Taylors, Sleepy backstreets).
- Ease of travel (a refreshing change from China).
Lowlights:
- Hassled by Sellers and Taxi's
- People trying to rip you off (constantly trying not to get fleeced).
- Nasty side to some locals who you don't buy from!
