Weather forecast is 81 degrees today. Sun is here at last, now we don't have to drive in the fog on highway overpass. To the Capitol we go. Yes, Austin is the capital city of Texas. Where else can we find the Capitol building? HERE of course! The Texan capitol building is the largest state capitol building. It is a replica of the U.S.A. Capitol building... But as we all know, everything here has to be bigger in some way... yep the capitol building here is supposed to be TALLER. Go figure!

We have a brief visit inside the capitol building. All the time, we are thinking: 'It is good to be the politicians right now'.... sitting in the comfortable building and enjoying the nice offices... believe us, there is plenty of comfort here. We watch the senate house in session, but we have not a clue what they are mumbling about. We are wondering if we can get paid sitting on a comfortable chair and mumbling all day like that...???

...Like crazy tourists, we stop by the Texas State History Museum. Information overload for us. Everything about Texas is here. Three BIG floors worth of information. It's BIG! No kidding!!! After a few hours, we cannot handle it any more, but escape and take a leap over University of Texas (UT) - Longhorns. Beautiful campus. We would like to think that we are young and hip amongst the students. From the Texas Capitol, we cannot help but notice the University of Texas Tower, the site of the infamous mass shooting 43 years ago. Quite a different scene now... We decide to walk along Guadalupe Street, alongside UT. This place is young and happening with the students. We gotta try some of the students eatery joints, Whichwich Sandwich ( Cheap and fresh sandwiches. Made to our liking. Staff know our names, surprises Kim (our names are on the order bags). Making Subway run for their money too. Thumbs up from us!
