Since the power was cut by the venue, Matias had left Hull. When I woke up, we had got us a new tour manager, Eudyn.
I sat again with Matias, because I want to see the sights: all Britain seems to look the same. Mostly a bit shabby and worn down, sign of unemployment maybe, but the countryside with valleys, green fields and sheep look lovely and idyllic. And the small villages that we pass here and then.
Most of our days goes by staying in the tour bus, either driving or parked somewhere we are allowed to park the bus for free.
This day we parked at a motorway side service place. No shower for those who did not take the chance yesterday, but morning coffee and cigarettes, oh yes. And toilet (twice) :D
The weather was rain and sun mixing, and the wind made a heavy blowjob according to Matias, our cool busdriver. After a few hours on the service park, we were traveling to the next venue: Newcastle and The Tillingans, here we come.
The talk of this day was about things to look forward to. In this case Aberdeen, where we will have a possibility of washing clothes, shower, and to use a REAL kitchen :D
Newcastle is a big city, at least it looked like it when we drove to city center.
After finding the venue and loading-in and parking the bus I went with Frans and Gudmar to music shop. Just out of curiosity of seeing a bit of Newcastle and to try to find a camera shop.
Before the sound check we went to an Italian restaurant for some good food.
After sound check I thought that (even if a bit partial) that SIC is cool where ever they play and how big the audience is, they always give their everything.
On this venue there were more people than on the earlier gigs, and was an mature audience (probably waiting for the other band Deafcon One, which surprisingly where the headliners of this day).
SIC played first and made a hell of a show. They never let you down. Enthusiastic Eija photographed the whole gig again, because there were a bit more lights than on other venues. Gudmar had the best light this time, so in most shots are Gudmar then, hehe.
The lighting in these smaller venues are the same: same scheme, green, yellow and red = horror for me since I like to shoot without flash, have to buy a flash from somewhere. Bad thing is that I always forget how early the shops close here. When we are ready to go "shopping" it already closed.
Mikkjal made an appearance with Deafcon One singing a duet.
I thought that today I was allowed to drink a bit more (decided that after the gig, alcohol is not a working tool, since these lads are so fast, so fast). It turned into a small great partying mood for all and we had a blast. After the Tilligans closed we went to a local "metal"nightclub Legends and enjoyed from the bottoms of our hearts. Dancing and drinking :D
The night ended with a MacDonalds picnic in front of the bus in the parking hall outside the venue. What a laugh we had, fooling around. This was definitively the day I have laughed the most. We woke even Matias up with our loudness but he is cool and was not angry.
Soon it was time to turn in after this very very very brilliant day. I had practiced my stomach muscles. And it was a boost for all that Eudyn came along, he is a great guy.
God night, Newcastle, we enjoyed it.
