We caught up to Libby (Sarahīs sister) again in Madrid. I think the temperature was somewhere around, oh, the temperature of molten lava. It doesnīt help that Madrid is all concrete and cement pavers and the there are almost no trees in the city. Our hotel was not too far from the Plaza del Sol which I think translates to "Plaza Like the Surface of the Sun". Somehow we still managed to see some sights around town. The Museum of Modern Art had a new exhibit in Dali which even included some commercials he had done. I never realized what a corporate shill Dali was until I saw him in a chocolate commercial where his mustache quivered as he ate some chocolate.

We spent a few days seeing the sights that Madrid has to offer, those being museums. Madrid has an amazing modern art museum and for pure extravagance Palacio Real de Madrid (Palace of Madrid), is hard to beat. The palace also boasts the best armory I can ever remember seeing. Spanish armor is impressively ornate on itīs own, but this armory also had full scale horse and rider "mannequins" donned with full armor for both.

Our last day in Madrid we finally had to say goodbye to Libby until she comes home from her semester studying abroad. I hope she likes the heat!
