The bus we hoped existed did exist and took us from Zakopane, Poland, through spectacular mountain scenery over what was not really a long distance into Slovakia. We found another bus to take us to Levoca - a gem of a little town where we have the swankiest FOUR=STAR hotel at a steal of a rate. Huge room, all facilities, posh restaurant, great bathroom and a great view over the central 14-16th century town square. We are taking it fairly easy to let our sore legs recover, but that still means walking all around this walled old town.

We are uploading some pics at last!

We have changed the schedule we sent you. We are now going to Bratislava, then to Budapest then to Prague. Hotels booked in the last two, but we are gambling on getting something tomorrow on arrival in Bratislava Four star room

. We hope the riots have stopped in Budapest by the time we get there.

By the way, we have been having a beer with most evening meals, and they have been great. We heard the Slovaks like real strong beer - 12% alcohol - but we thought there would be normal ones (5%) as well. Nope. Slovak pubs and restaurants serve 12% beer or it is soft drink. And it comes in 0.5L glasses. No second rounds here for us.
