Well today was the final leg of our journey.   We awoke to a magical sight - our RV was overlooking Flagstaff Lake and the early morning mist was spread over the surface, the sun, already high up, was opaque through the low clouds and the small island in the lake peeped out as if it were floating in the mist.  Such a mystical sight is enough to dispel the cold on such a chilly morning.
Once underway, we were soon passing through the wooded countryside and being treated to more fall scenes.  Over the last few days, we had got higher and further north and the coldness of the nights was clearly accelerating the turn of the leaves.   This morning, the blue skies and the bright morning sun set the scene off perfectly.
Before we knew it, we had crossed back into Canada, without a hitch (for some reason, every time we cross a frontier, Chrissy is convinced that the RV will be take apart, bolt by bolt as the Customs officers search for contraband).   When asked what she had to declare, she replied 4 Tee shirts and a bottle of wine!   We are not big fish!
The rest of the journey passed without hitch.   We had aimed to get to the campsite early, to give us time to clean up the van, prior to its return early tomorrow.   Needless to say the cleaning process was treated just as if we were leaving a military quarter on march out - it is a clean as a whistle!
This will be the last blog - it has been a pleasure writing it and we hope it has been a pleasure reading it.   It marks the end of one adventure and the beginning of the next.   Chrissy and I have had the experience of a lifetime and it has been our pleasure to share it with you in just a small way.   We have seen sights that we might only have dreamed about, spectacular mountains, wonderful lakes, dramatic waterfalls, incredible vistas and superb sights and scenes.  We have met many different people along the way, to share some time with and to listen to their stories and tell ours.   But, above all these things we have savoured the time together, with no other cares than to make the most of this opportunity and to reflect on the special time we have been able to have.   If we can recommend our experience at all, then all we can say is that to do this with your best friend and your lover is the greatest of all.   Thank you for reading and au revoir - see you soon.
