Where I stayed

Well as you can see from the title, we stayed in Bar Harbor for a second day.   After spending two nights on Vancouver Island overlooking the Pacific, we thought it only fair to spend two days in Maine overlooking the Atlantic.   As a consequence we were able to have a very leisurely start this morning, having a good old fry up for breakfast before setting out to drive around Mount Desert Island.   It was a superb drive on quiet roads.   We have been really lucky during this trip in that everywhere we have visited has been quiet, yet the weather has been exceptionally warm, with blue skies and sunshine, almost every single day.   Today was no exception and we were soon happening on deserted harbours, just begging to be photographed as Monty scampered over the rocks.
We had lunch in a great little New England café and dined on Lobster and Crab, well you just have to, if you are in Maine, don't you?
Later in the afternoon, we ventured off the island and further north, up the Maine coast and by chance spotted a winery, tucked away in the woods.   We thought it an odd sight, so far north, but curiosity got the better of us, so we popped in.   The winery specialised in fruit wines and offered a really interesting tasting session.   We were hooked and after, taking our time to select the right one for us, came away with a couple of bottles and Chrissy, just a little rosy.
As the evening drew in, we sat by the campfire and tasted our wares!
