Facing a 22 hour bus ride or 5 hours via the air I chose the latter and headed off to the airport in Foz de Iguazu to take me to the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais and the 3rd largest town in Brazil of Belo Horizonte. Since I spent $150 and whole lot of trouble to get my Brazilian visa I figured I should see a little more of Brazil than the beaches of Rio. As I stated I was in the state of Minas Gerais; Minas meaning mines and Gerais meaning I really don't know because I don't speak Portuguese, which is something I've said about 100 times already since being here. It's come to the point where I am asking people "Habla Espanol?" because very very very few speak English. Anyways, while I was here I took a day trip to Ouro Preto the most famous colonial town in Brazil. It was founded over 350 years ago upon the discovery of gold and was one of the greatest sources of wealth for the Portuguese empire. Rio, Rio, Rio!
