Back in Buenos Aires. Spent 3 days and nights here being a tourist. Walked around for a few hours each day taking photos of the famous monuments, statues, and buildings. On Saturday night I went out to see a Tango-Cena Show, which both guidebooks (LonelyPlanet and Footprints) describe as touristy and overpriced. I however found it to be quite entertaining and not a bad deal --- $80 for a four course meal, 2 bottles of wine, and an hour and fort-five minutes of show, which was 3/4 tango and 1/4 cena(native music and dancing).
My last day in Buenos Aires was probably the most interesting as I walked around the neighborhood of La Boca and the colorful streets of Caminito. It was very touristy as there were lots of stalls selling souveniers, open air cafes with music and tango performances. I felt happy about going to the show the previous evening as the level of performance was no comparison plus after a 2 minute dance the performers walked around the crowd of onlookers hitting them up for tips or photo opportunities with the dancers. Anyways it was good and free entertainment. Well I am off to Uruguay next.
