Our stay in Brno continues.  Time is slipping by quickly.  It's difficult to keep track of time especially if we try to base it on the time zone we normally live in.  Saturday was fairly event free.  We hung out at home and pretty much did our own thing.  Phil, however, had agreed a week or so earlier to "preach" at the Czech house church on Sunday and he had to put the finishing touches on that message.  (In other words, "Holy Cow, what did I get my self in to?")

On Sunday morning, we needed to be ready by 9:15 AM, or 0915 as they call it here, since we were needed to catch the bus by 0924.  It was very cold, 15 F, but the buses are warm.  The church is a conference room on the first floor of a 3 story office building of one of the members whose name is Jan.  A very generous man.  Only about 20 or so attend this church.  Not many churches in Brno.  Not many Christians, frankly, either. We didn't really know it until after the service that a new couple had come that morning who have been observing, non believers at this point.  It was nice to see a purpose of the church being fulfilled.

Phil's time of teaching/preaching went well enough.  Alena translated, one sentence at a time.  Some there understood English but told us afterwards if we speak too fast they can't keep up.  Good to know.

Afterwards, we went up to the third floor, one of the member's, Ales and his wife Mirka, live there.  Ales made us a meal consisting of beef, bread and sauce with a vegetable type soup as an appetizer.  It was incredibly good.  Keeping in Czech tradition, we had coffee with some "flavoring" added just for good measure. Apparently, that wasn't enough and we were given a small glass, shot if you will, of something a bit more potent.  Cookies soaked up this madness as we relaxed and talked about each other's lives.  Alena is Ales and Mirka"s daughter and again she acted as the translator.  She and her family is a blessing to Wes and Michelle and we were able to experience a bit of that as well.

It was a good day.
