Hong Kong airport - what a site. The roof is incredible. We arrived so early in the morning that everything seemed to be closed, almost nobody about. So we set about exploring, and have walked the entire building, almost I think twice.
I sit here typing this entry on the restaurant level (Level 7). Level 6 is the Departure lounge, Level 5 the arrivals, and Level 4 some other departure gates. I don't know what Level 1-3 have!
You have quite good views from the airport, over the planes, out to the mountains surrounding the airport, as well as a view to Hong Kong city itself.
There are more people here now, the building is gradually filling up. We learned today that while there are showers in the Arrivals area, there are none in the Departures area (well, none you can get to without paying for it). Lesson learnt!
We Depart for the next leg of the trip (to Helsinki) in 1.5 hrs.
