After all the planning, it came down to waiting for our plane to leave. Sydney airport was its normal "dull" self. We arrive sufficiently early (5 hours before the flight) that we couldn't check in until 18:55 (3 hours prior). So we waited, and waited.
Finally they opened the check-in, and a little over 30 minutes later, we were inside the departure terminal.
Once there - well, again we waited, although we did get some duty free shopping done for our friends we are seeing in Finland.
Oh - we did try to get something to eat, and lucked out a little, settling for two AUS 7 soups (mine was asian chicken, Shellie's was pumpkin soup). Both were not terribly fantastic, but made up for the Smith's chips and V drinks we had on the drive up in the hire car.
21.55 we boarded and departed for Hong Kong (the next entry).
