Snow in July
After our wonderful evening in Taos, we hit the road for Colorado to visit my Mom & Dad. They live in Monument, Colorado between Colorado Springs and Denver. As we crossed into Colorado, the first big peak that we saw was Blanca Peak which still had snow on it even in mid-July. We have had encounters with snow in Colorado during our last visits. We came for Christmas in 2006 and got stuck in Atlanta due to the blizzard in Denver. When we came last July on our RV trip, there was a hail storm that left 3 inches on the ground. We came back through in mid-October, hurrying through the Rockies ahead of a storm, and then we got snowed on. Finally, we came a Christmas of 2007 and naturally it snowed again. I think we must bring it with us! In any case, it was nice to see the snow way up in the mountains, not up close and person
