We've stopped in New Orleans both previous times we've traversed the US. The RV park
After dinner we wandered on over to Bourbon Street for a little New Orleans jazz. Bourbon Street is mostly bars and nightclubs blaring rock and roll out for the tourists. There was a convention going on over the weekend and Bourbon Street was getting crowded even though it was early in the evening. We always seem to hit New Orleans on the nights that Preservation Hall is closed and this time was no exception.
Deb needs a bead fix so tomorrow it's on to Houston.
FQRV Landing Zone
we stay in is only two blocks from the French Quarter and very nice especially with the location
Sunset over the Big Easy
The neighborhood is a little dicey and they recommend that you not walk outside the park walls after dark. This time through, we were only going to stay overnight since our goal is to get West as quickly as possible. We did go into the Quarter and have dinner. There are so many good restaurants in New Orleans. Unfortunately, the one we wanted to go to, Galatoires was closed for the 4th of July holiday. We still had a wonderful dinner at the Bombay Club. Masion Bourbon
However, there is one bar that we go to on Bourbon Street, Maison Bourbon, where they do play New Orleans jazz. I captured a little of it on the camera as well as a little clip of zydeco from another bar on Bourbon.Maison Bourbon Music Clip
