We land in the pouring rain and de-plane on the tarmac for a refreshing shower on the way to the waiting bus to the terminal. My plan to leave my glasses and the book I've nearly finished in the seat pocket in front of me is thwarted by the tall, blonde Hungarian flight attendendant and the bus waits while I have a quick stroll back to the plane to reclaim them. Just 90-minutes now in the Budapest terminal where all shops and eateries are closed for the night giving me even more time to read. It's with regret and a sentimental nod to the dowdy old empress of the Hapsburg empire that we are finally on the Athens plane and off once more.
