Before any smart comment, we are not here to play tetras!  We cross the boarder Slovakia today to the Tatras Mountains.  It's a popular destination for skiing (in winter) and hiking (in summer).  It's autumn now so I suppose you can do both! 
Actually, no... There weren't a lot of snow when we were there - thou apparently it was snowing 6-7 weeks ago (extremely early even for this part of the world) and it snowed the day after we left.  But on the day we went there, the weather couldn't be more perfect - clear blue sky.  The sun was so bright - you could almost walk around in t-shirt and shorts!  The walk is not very hard (partly because we took the skyrail up the mountain and meandered our way down - if we had done it the other way...  Took lots of photos of snow, ice, freezing cold streams.  A hurricane went thru the area a few years ago so it was kind of weird seeing lots of trees and then suddenly none at all...
