Where I stayed
MV Aenne Rickmers
Wednesday 19 November
Close to Christmas Island S 10° 02.9' E 106° 00.0'
Managed the morning walk this time, although I had to avoid several sections of deck that have got very slippery (due to grease, salt and barbeque respectively). Later it came on to rain quite heavily, so that may have improved things.
Towards the end of the morning, I took a tour of the engine room which was of course impressively large and noisy, and had a brief discussion on computer networks with the Chief Engineer as he has been asked to specify cable lengths needed to connect the onboard computers in a network.
After a spell at the bows I retreated from the rain to my cabin, and was very pleased to receive a new mattress - the main benefit of the party, from my point of view, was chatting to the Chief Officer and finding him to be IC furniture!
