In the morning we headed into town in Port Macquarie in order to have a nice breakfast, we went to the shopping centre to a cafe. After that we did some shopping and headed to the beach to search for some shells. After the beach it was time to spot some koalas, there were a big national park area in the centre of the town, We did not see any koalas in the wild so we went to the koala hospital. The hospital was a real hospital, really cute place and it was possible to vist the koalas at there rehability cages. Comparing these koalas with the Syndey zoo koalas, these ones seemed much happier.
We headed up towards Coffs Harbour, but first we made a quick stop at the Lighthouse beach for a couple of photographs and a quick swim. Then we drove a few tourist routes so we ended up in South west Rocks, which was a mid sized tourist place, but instead of aiming at the local beach we went to the local harbour, into a nice Fish taverna. Wonderful place and we arrange a special dish of oysters, we have never tried that before so that was really interesting. As a complement from the restaurant we also got to taste kings prawns.
We had a couple of hours left before suset and we went for smoky lighthouse, on the way we saw a bunch of kangaroos eating grass, and in a river near byt a group of pelicans were sailing around.
Smoky lighthouse offered amazing views of the surroundings, unfortunately the day had come to an end and we started to drive towards Coffs Harbour, Korora.
As allways we arrived late, around 21.00 in the evening, we did not have a good map of Korora so we struggled a while before we found our appartment. While driving around searching for our apartment we saw a big snake on the road. Since we arrived so late the key to our appartment was hidden in a box in an dark alley, beside the reception, due to the memory of the snake, this was a place I refused to enter without a flashlight.
