It was now time to start our journey towards Fraser Island, via Hunters Valley, Port Macquire, Coffs Harbour and Bargara. Even though we knew that Sydney is a big town and traffic jams are to be expeccted, we avoided main routes but we still got stuck in traffic for an 1h. Well out in the freeway it took us approximaetly 1,5h to reach Hunters Valley, the valley of wines nearby Sydney. We visited a some wineries and bought couple of wine bottles. That last wineyard, Gartelmann, was picked due to the funny lable on the bottle, a crow? It was a small cosy winery, with really nice people, Oona was let to take photos in the birdcage. We also learned that the "crow" on the label, was a very common bird in Australia called the "magpie".
Anyway we got a nice tip were to drive, in order to see kangaroos laying around in the grass. So we did some cruising on small local roads where probably no tourist has evver gone, and finally there they we found them, three kangaroos laying on the frontyard to a house.
Time to head towards Port Macquire, it was already late, we are on our first day and already starting to slip from our timeschedule. Plan was to arrived at Port Macquire in the afternoon but Australia has a lot of things to offer along the way, sowe arrived around 20.00 in the evening.
