Yesterday we could discover that the hotel http://www.nycparamount.com was really very good situated in Times Square, in the center of Manhattan, with the underground very close and all the theatres in front of us.
The bedroom is the smallest one you can see in your life; just the bed and a small armchair and almost nothing more. But the bathroom was good and very clean.
After leaving the luggage in the 'liliput' bedroom we had dinner in a terrace close to the 5av and suddly 'La Tuna' appears singing .... no comments at all.
Today our planning is to go to Lower Manhattan by foot taking Broadway Street to have a first impression of the city.
We arrive at the World Trade Center site, where some time ago the Twin Towers and others buildings were there. Now a lot of people and machines are rebuilding the area.
Close to this site there is a church with dedications to the died people during 11-S
But business continues in NYC and the best area to feel it is Wall Street
And finally time to relax in Pier 17, close to Battery Park in Lower Manhattan, to see the beautiful views:
To return to the hotel, we bought a Metrocard inside the underground. In this site you can find info about it: http://www.mta.info/metrocard and here you have the subway map: http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm
When you buy it in the machines, you can select days of validity (no limit of travels but limit of days) or money. We select money because we prefer to walk and only take the public transport when we feel exhausted.
The view when we went out of the subway was amazing
