End - 11:30pm
2 more big sleeps before The Gourds.
I got email saying Hog Heaven, a food trailer will be serving sliders, tacos, wraps and various eats before the show, at intermission and after the concert $3 - $5 . Sounds like a party to me.
Well didn't sleep in and was drinking motels coffee (passable) at 6:30. Had some cereal while watching Fox TV. I've not been so lucky to watch this crap before. At the risk of offending any extreme right wingers it just goes to prove my theory that the more right wing you get the more your brain shrivels up until....boing...
Doug and I went for a very large walk this morning. Got a bit twistytailed at one point and went the other way on Congress St. We walked a million miles out of our way but it was neat to see down town Austin. I blame Doug. We did end up eventually at the SRV statue. Very cool down by Lady Bird lake. There were at least 15 thousand dogs down here, off leash. Doug was terrified by the shear number of critters running around so he stayed in the bag. Went into a hat shop maybe looking for a touring cap. Bzzzzz. Made in China. Nothing special. I heard some familiar guitar at one point from across the road. It was Hendrix "Third Stone from the Sun" coming out of this vacant little spot with a peace sign on the end wall. I took a picture cause I got goose bumps. I stopped by Stubb's on the way back and had a locally brewed IPA. It was dam good as well but I suspect anything I had here would taste good. :-). Get along well with the one bar tender. He kinda lets me know when to arrive etc. I'm writing this early addition in the shade by the pool. Water feels like there were a lot of kids in before me but when you get out it feels nice....like being on vacation. I want to use the guests computer this afternoon to update the gps software cause it's acting funny. Maybe have a snooze so I'm ready to do Mike and the Moonpies tonight at Stubb's. Stuff doesn't really get going till around 9pm.
That didn't work out very well. There was a very heavy rainfall while I was walking to Stubb's and I got soaked. When I got there I saw that the band I wanted to see didn't come on till 11:30. Just too late for me. Too bad but it was a great day...
