First item on the list is the church it is gold and gaudy and tucked away in between some shops. I travel down along the road and then come to a square and yet another church which is pretty impressive, even if I am starting to get sick of these churches.
Norbs also pointed out a Sinagogue on the list but I had, had enough of these kinds of buildings by now.
There are about 8 things on Norbs MUST SEE list and I see them all except the last one as I didn't realise it was there
Munich 1
. I go to the giant Beer Hall Haufbrauhaus and the gardens, to the Palaces and a couple of churches.I then head back to Norbs house to find out more about what is happening tonight. The other couchsurfer is coming back at 7pm then we are all to go out and buy some things for dinner. I tell Norbs that I want to go and see Soko play so we look it up on the internet and find out that she is playing with 3 other bands. The White Rabbits, Lonely, Dear Soko, and the Guillimots. The venue opens at 7pm and the first band is on at 8pm. I end up leaving at 7.30pm but it seems when I arrive the first band isn't on until 8.4pm so I get to see them perform. I am impressed I didn't think I would be but I am. They are called the White Rabbits . Next on is Soko, she has a different guitarist than from her video clip and looks a bit different too, must be those myspace angles. She is hilarious, nattering away in French and English even though the crowd is German.
She starts with an acoustic version of 'I'll Kill Her' and then goes on from there. There is a lot of story telling and some crowd participation and then after about 45 mins she ends with ' I could never love you more'. The crowd love her and I do too, its a great show and so relaxed and unpretentious.
After she plays I approach her on the stage and talk to her for 10 minutes then ask to get my photo taken with her. She says she will come back out after she has changed, and it seemed I waited like a week or two but she never tried to reach me, she never came back out, hmm maybe she was dating that bleached blonde girl?
The next band comes on who I think are the Guillimots they are okay but it is almost midnight and I have a 7.20am train leaving from Munich in the morning to ????? then to Leipzig for the 4 day festival.
When I get home I see that Norbs and the Greek couchsurfer are still awake watching some downloaded TV programs so it is not until 2 am that I finally get to sleep, its tough I have to wake up in 4 hours and I have a big 4 days ahead of me.
