Mon dieu!  The rain!  The springtime weather in Paris is no longer or well at least not for today.  There is rain and wind and it yuck outside.  I go for a walk around the area, getting lost.  Its great discovering new places and I fall in love with Paris.  I really think I could live her.  Perhaps I will see about living and working for a year in Paris.

I get a chai latte and then head over to the train station to book my train to Marseille and then my train from Marseille to Lyon and Stuttgart and then my train from Stuttgart to Munich.  I feel like I am again back on track with some more plans for my travelling.  Although that will soon become unravelled.

I go to the post office and post some stuff home it lightens things but not really that much.  I am really not sure if I want to continue to carry my riding boots and all the stuff I have Where I would like to live in Paris

.  Perhaps I will again have to do a cull of my stuff and I will soon have another kilo with my laptop.
I go back to the Youth Hostel and use the internet as there is free wifi internet access. I am there about 5 mins when this Australian guy starts talking to himself, so some reason I ask him if he is Australian in French.  He is and we get to chatting.  This guy has done some crazy stuff he has worked for 8 years outside of Australia tour guiding and working on boats and cruise ships.  You are limited to half an hour on the internet so we both get another token and continue typing and talking.  He then asks what I am doing later this afternoon and if I feel like a romantic dinner in Paris.  I say yes that would be wonderful.

We both leave and agree to meet at 6.30pm. I then head off to see some more sights.  I go to the Louve and then walk around the gardens. I walk along the Champs de Elysee in the other direction and then its getting late and so head back to the Youth Hostel.  I go to my room and change and there is a girl from the US in there were get into a great conversation and I lose track of time.  It is 7.00pm and so I finish getting ready and go down stairs.  Matt isn't there so I go on the computer and 5 mins later he runs in, he is also running late as he went for a run so he goes back upstairs and gets changed Les Toilette - its free to pee

We then go for a walk to an area around the corner he is familiar with, we decide to go to a traditional French restaurant.  He is wet from the rain, I had my umbrella, he refused to share as he didn't want me getting wet.  We order my French is far better than his and the conversation flows.  He's a complete cad using his charm to woo women all over the world.  He is so funny and has great travel stories and I match him for stories. We decide that we should both indeed write some travel books, I said that we could write a travel book based on this dinner alone and call it " A girl and a boy in Paris" It is so refreshing to meet someone who feels so passionately about travel as I do!  I order goats cheese for entree it is divine.

Our mains arrive and I have ordered Coq au Vin, it is so tender but we are lost in conversation, he ordered Saucisse.  We fire off eachother with puns and quips, you forget how easily you can connect with other Australians who travel when you are travelling. He then offers if I want to taste his main meal.  I say that would be a title of a chaper of the book - A girl and a boy in Paris the Chapter - Would you like to taste my sausage?  I decline.  Dessert is divine Creme Caramel for me and Chocolate Cake for him, we share, the French sure do know how to cook Parking in Paris

I go to the toilet and to take some more pictures, when I get back to our table his in gone and he has paid.  I wonder if he has run off, I speak to the guy dining alone at the next table and he points outside.  He is standing outside the restaurant holding my umbrella do I don't get wet as I leave.

We walk back to the Youth Hostel and exchange email addresses, he is waiting to hear about a tour guiding job doing the trans-siberian railway - how awsome is that!  Its late so I go back to my room and we make a second date for breakfast.  Its strange we have heaps in common but I am so not attracted to him in anything except friendship.  We have another new girl one from Argetina in our room.  This is her first trip to France and Paris so we give her some tips and then we chat for another hour.

We finally go to sleep somewhere around 2am and are woken shortly after by the Korean girl coming in and making a noise.
