I'm sure you've noticed by now that it takes us longer than many to get from point A to point B! Too many strange things to stop and check out along the way. Life's short, remember to take in as much as you can.
Today we traveled from Gallup, New Mexico to Amarillo, Texas. Huge changes in scenery as you go east from the mesas and mountains of New Mexico into the high plains of the panhandle of Texas. It not only looks crisp here, it is crisp. Exceptionally dry in the plains and all the fire warnings that are posted are in the high range. On the other hand, the skies are the purest azure blue, yes, just like Herbin's Bleu Azure!
The photos tell our road tales for most of today. Tonight, we caught up with customer-friends in Amarillo for dinner. We went to David's Steaks and Seafood, voted Best Steak and Best Restaurant in Amarillo in 2005. I don't know who did the voting, but definitely melt in your mouth steaks. As delicious as dinner was, the conversation with friends had it beat hands down. A nice break from the road.
