Mr. Kitty was no where to be found this morning, so we departed Shamrock without good byes! We did meet the shop cat at the antique mall in Moriarty, a rescue over 6 years ago and thriving, not to mention in complete control of the shop! Rescue-Kitty helped us find several writing things! You'll see them one of these days, too.
Frank and I love New Mexico - the people, the scenery, we always get a good feeling here. Today, we stopped in at one of the interstate rest areas, most of them in NM are staffed and this one was no exception. Friendly woman to greet us. Followed by an offer for complimentary coffee which this coffee-holic gratefully accepted. As we're wandering around the large area with exhibits and brochures, there was a computer set up with a clear sign: Free computer use for travelers. Nice touch. So kudos to the state of New Mexico for going that extra mile to make travelers feel welcome.
Something I've been pondering today:
If the sun is shining and it is snowing at the same time, could there be a snow-bow?
Mother Nature was just full of herself today! In one very short period, maybe 5 minutes, we drove through beautiful blue skies with white fluffy clouds to white out conditions in the NM mountains. The white out started right when we were exiting to Cline's Corner and I think we could get there blindfolded since this is a routine stop for us, but still, I'm glad we got off the highway. This white out was short lived, phew! We like Cline's Corner, but really didn't want to stay there all afternoon! All across NM today we encountered Mother Nature at her worst - snow, sleet, wind and other wet stuff falling from the sky, thankfully she did this in between little spurts of sunshine, so we had breaks!
