As you may know, Jake arrived at the Ranch on June 7--to be the Head Chef for a Youth Camp for the summer of 2010.  I recently joined him on July 27th.  Before I came out here, Jake took that seven weeks to cook for the kids, write some new poems and also to landscape the area around his cabin and turn it into a very wonderful garden for us to tend to and admire together.  He planted four trees (Two crab apples, one aspen and a maple) as well as a windowsill herb box that we eat out of, some vegetables and ornamental shrubs and two rose bushes.  He also made a zen rock garden.  Now I help him water the garden and love to look at it.  The garden was one of his birthday presents to me.

Tomorrow is my birthday, and Jake and I are going to camp at Lava Hot Springs in Western Idaho.  Today he surprised me with tickets to see the New York Ballet Company perform at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts.  It was wonderful and I was very surprised.

We started this page so that we could post pictures and stories of our latest travels, and will continue it as we head off to New Jersey and then back to Southern Oregon, San Francisco and then finally our big trip to New Zealand in September.

We hope you enjoy the pictures for now.

Hello guys!

Wow, Jake sounds like he's a "Jack of Many Trades". The garden sounds really nice, there's nothing quite like fresh produce, grown just the way God intended, naturally.

It must be fun traveling so many places, meeting so many people. It sure would help develop a good world view.

Take care!
