He is my nephew
He is the light off my life. His smile melts my heart and his laughter can lighten any of my darker moods. When he is in my presence I gravity towered him and feel compelled to take care of his needs. His emotions become my emotions and when I can't soothe him, inside I break. I want to show him the world. You thought I was talking about MY child didn't you? I am not. HE is my nephew and my feelings for him run so deep it almost frightens me to think of having children of my own. Today is the day I finally begin on the journey to a new life. One step closer to Bologna and one step farther from Ty. I didn't know saying goodbye to a half sleepy, half silly, but all smiles toddler could stir up so much emotion. I was doing just fine as I drove to the airport with my sister; Ty slumped to one side of his car seat all snuggled in his fuzzy blankie fast asleep. Granted the night before did stir up a few tears when I said so long to Dad. Once again, leaving the house I grew up in to start another chapter in my book of life. But for the most part I was feeling fresh on this bright crisp morning, driving in the car reminiscing with mimi about our childhood. After a must have stop at Starbucks to "caffeinete" my minus 4 hours of sleep brain, we pulled up to LAX, Southwest departures. I stopped the car, put it in park and turned to Ty in the backseat. That was it! His sleepy little half smile followed by that addictive Ty chuckle.... And the flood gates opened. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be more excited for this. And the "other" man in my life is well worth these intense emotions that I have been experiencing for the past 24 hours!!!
