Another day in Patagonia Fantastica Espectacular

Last day: looking at the map, we had to cover a fair distance. Still we took ages to leave, as we were hanging out with the people of the refugio. The lady asked us to write asong in our language for her daughter, and to teach it to her too. So they got a song in hebrew, another in german, one in french, and the last one in chinese!

We went down the valley, walking in the forest. The weather was still sunny, we had picnic by a river, we met horses that almost ran us over, we finally reached ciivilizaton and had cofee with pastries while waiting for a bus.

To summarize these three days, we walked three valleys, climbed over two passes, going down vertiginous slopes, and there was rocks and there was snow, the trees were green and yellow and red, there were lakes and more moutains in the distance, it was absolutely fabulous. And a non-negligible feature is that in that immensity, there were only us five, nobody else.

Something that allways happens in these multiday treks, is the constant talking of what you would eat when you get back. And usually everybody agrees that an asado, or at the very least a biffe de chorizo, are the best options...

In the evening, Lucas came to pick us up, and took us to the vacation house of his familly, a brand new (3 weeks old) 250 m2 house with lots of wood and huge windows, and an incredibly elaborate asado place: a chimney built in the wall, with access from the kitchen on one side, and access from outside on the other side. Closing both doors made it work like an oven too. And the grill was hanging, you just had to wind up or down a chain to set it to the desired height above the fire.

The base for a home asado is 500g of meat per person (bones included). The 150-200g chorizo (big fat sausages) with bread (wich makes them Choripans) do not count in the 500g count...
And there was beer and wine, we finished with drambuie and scotch, we talked and listened to music and watched the pictures and ended up going to bed at 5 in the morning.

So I figured out that maybe... it was also the people that made these tree days fantastic!
