After getting up and ready at the hostel, I was going to try contact Jess... but she called me then. She was with her friend Laura, and one of her friends Julian came to pick me up. He took me to the ferreteria (store) where Laura works. It is in fact the shop of her father.
There I met up with Laura and Jessica.
Laura lives with her mum at the moment, her dad lives somewhere else. Her mum runs a shop too, which is part of the house. It is like a mini-supermarket.
I was invited for lunch at Laura's, with her Mum and Jess.
Then Lalig (Laura's mum) allowed us to go with her car, and off we went, stopping on the way to see some nandu (ostrich-like bird), to Lago Barreales, 100 km away from Plaza Huincul. We crossed Oil country: oil wells, separation units, pipelines, flares, everywhere.
In the middle of all that: ProyectoDino. We had to drive around two more oil wells to access the site!
We had a guided tour there, it was really cool. More than that in fact: seeing the fossils half out of the rock, was something magic: (ex)life trapped in the mineral, and there once you take it out you have this huge femur. Incredible.
For once I wrote comments on the pictures, check it out.
After the visit I asked about the volunteering opportunities. In fact tourists are welcome to participate here, but they become "sponsors". A full hands on experience lasts 2 days, it looks really good but costs a lot, as the money is used to fund the research.
The sunset was incredible.
Back in Plaza Huincul, I cooked the dinner, I scored good points and was invited to stay with the familly (no in fact I was invited first!)

Big Thoughts for my amigo Marco.
I met him in Canada some 7 years ago, and since then he has been a regular compagnon of many crazy moments.
After I had announced my departure, a year ago, Marco called me and accused me to have awoken in him the same urge to travel...
Today is his first day on a year-long round the world trip.
Go pay him a visit and leave a message (if only to pressure him writing regularly in his blog)

First day
Thanks Adrien, now I've got the pressure!
By now the taste is good enough to fully understand that it was the good choice.
By now we are two: thanks again
Whose next?
Ciao Amigo
