In the morning we were back into the canals, seasickness was but a bad memory.
We saw pinguins, swimming and jumping out of the water to watch us. They were migrating north.
We saw sea lions.
We saw lots of birds. The biggest were the Gavinas, gliding over the water, the tip of their wing almost touchig the surface, so close that a track was made in the water by he air displacement. I watched them for hours.
And we saw blue whales. Seeing is a big word, as we could see from very far the water jets from their breathing, and a little bit of their back. Then, as we got closer, we could see their back, only once, as they were diving deeper to avoid us. Magic again, I can't get tired of that.
On our right were big volcanoes too, but we could only catch a glimpse of them , as they were surrounded by clouds.
Other activities on he boat included fierce poker games with a group of young germans, and teaching Lionel how to play belotte.
In the evening there was the Bingo Patagonico, a game of bingo where nobody wanted to win, as getting the prize meant having to dance and perform and be fun in front of everybody.
Then there was a dancing party, looked fun, but I ended up staing on deck: we could see the lights of Puerto Montt and other cities, and I stayed up there watching untill we were moored in the harbour, hours later, well into the night.
