I had planned to take the bus to El Calafate at 7 in the morning. I did not get it, as I had set my alarm clock at 6pm instead of 6am. That happens even when not at work, you see! We woke up in time for Milva to go to the horseriding tour she had booked.
I tried to get on the 1pm bus, it was full. I booked a seat on the evening bus, and went to wait interneting a bit (at 1 dollar per 15 minute) and reading my spanish dictionary for hours.
I went to take my bus at 6, the weather was terrible, with clouds and wind and rain, I thought about Bruno who was camping in the mountains, because we had told him the day before that it was great and that he had to go... when I met up with him again a week later, he confirmed that his one-person tent was not waterproof, and that day he ended up completely wet, tent and sleeping bag and clothes an everything.
I got in Calafate in the evening, had to spent the night there before catching a morning bus to Puerto Natales. Went to a hostel with the Irish and Aussie I had been travelling with, and then for a few beers. I found a small store open till late, where I bought rice and ham and cheese, in case I could go directly from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine on the next day.
There are days like that, fortunately not too many
