At some point instead of going to the Gobi deserts I decided I'd rather try hitch-hiking in Mongolia, from Kharkhorin to the Great White Lake Terghin Tsagaan Nuur.
At some point, completely lost and resorting to try asking everyone in Tsetserleg, I met the vice-governor of Tariat, and his son. At first they just drove me to their hometown, but returning from the lake I stayed at their place for a couple of days while waiting for a ride back...

Visiting Badar-Uugan
Very interesting! I was thinking of building a fan web site for Badar-Uugan, and looking for articles about him. Instead, I found your around-the-world blog today, and just couldn't stop reading all this morning. Work is kaput. I wish you would post all the promised entries for Orhon valley.
