Next to our cheap hotel is the expensive fairfield cafe&guesthouse, were we have to meet our horseseller, Shijree. Well, it was really good to have a real expresso and a bacon sandwich! That cafe is also the meeting point for travellers in Tsetserleg: two canadians coming back from a horsetrek, americans looking for good fishing spots, missioniaries from Wyoming studying mongolian language...
At around 1pm our man arrives, and that's another story, at the end of whih we still did not have horses. On the good side though, 20km away from Tsetserleg in the countryside, shijree's neighbourg was hosting Rich and Claire, an english couple I had met at Gana's guesthouse in UB.
In the evening, we had dinner with Pierrot, Geraud, Maria and little Louis, and then joined some friend of theirs for a drink out in an empty bar (on a saturday evening).
At 11:40pm, Amandine decided to go out to call her man, as she had just found out that the international phones at the telecom ofice could be used until midnight. I did my part and accompanied her. There was no street lighting whatsoever, but the night was clear. I waited outside, sitting against the wall, watching the full moon coming out from behing the clouds and following it path. Opposite in the sky, sporadic litghning. All the dogs in the town were howling and barking to the moon or to the coming storm. The first thunder rolled over Tsetserleg, bringing calm and expectation. The moon was fully illuminating the city from her side, the wind started blowing, neither warm nor cold. Tomorow we will start over looking for our horses again, with no idea on how to proceed.
