My cousin Gabrielle has started a horse center: she trains the horses (her's or other's), and takes them to competitions.
I had missed the inauguration of her brand new horse center, last year. I had to go to see how it was before I left. I had originally planned to spend a week there, to help with the horses - a kind of preparation before setting off to Mongolia, and a good occasion to spend some time riding there, as I used to when I was a kid.
I had underestimated the time and energy for preparing my journey, and I fell short of time. Still, I managed to spend a day in Faye, with Claude, Gaby, Guillaume, Jacques, and Vero. We had good eating and drinking, as usual, and I even got to ride... Thank you Gaby for letting me ride the most stubborn horse of all !!! But that was fun: the more I pulled the left rein, the more Hormen (the horse) would go right... and the day after I could feel some muscles I had forgotten about.
I also got some advice on horse selection, tendering, and riding. Thanks again!
