Off to a good start in Montreal

After a hectic period of last minute preparations including snafus, we had a wonderful send off at the bus station attended by our oversight committee and other friends. Arriving in Montreal we were warmly welcomed by Claire Adamson of the Montreal Friends Meeting in her beautiful 19th century home. The house is attached house to others on the block for efficient use of urban landscape. We were impressed by the relitively simple urban lifestyle of Claire and her husband Tom, which includes no car.
After an informative tour of the neighborhood led by Claire, an architect with a good understanding of the history of the area, we had a delicious potluck with Montreal Friends and a successful first presentation to very attentive audience. They seemed very aware of ecological issues and eager to apply them to their personal lives as well as at the legislative level. The photo was taken in Claire's home. We will be posting to our blog fairly regurlarly for the first couple of weeks until we think it's enough to write only every week or so. We look forward to seeing some of you along the journey and after returning home. Six months is a long time! We think we'll be walking about 3 million steps. But it all begins with one step, next Sunday in Vancouver. Blessings, Ruah and Louis

I will be using bad airplanes to get the message out about ending slavery while you use your good feet to get the word out about simple living. My deepest wish for you is that your feet continue to be good, all the way to the end. Maybe we'll meet in Los... show all
