We arrived in Surfer's Paradise yesterday afternoon after a 2 hour drive South from Noosa and quickly checked into the Marriot Hotel. Surfer's is the Australian equivalent to Blackpool, this is where the locals come on holiday and it's completely geared up for binge drinking (although as yet we've not really done that much of it here!)
The weather is very ordinary too - apparently the coldest day of the year so far which makes four english blokes walking around in T-shirts all the more amusing for the woolly hat and coat wearing locals! I reckon I might have to buckle and buy a jumper soon cos it gets freezing at night and my summer collection isn't really approriate here. Just heard that it's snowing in New Zealand too so skiing is definetly on the cards for later in the holiday.
Also noteably, we've heard on the news that Chris Hudson, the guy on the run in Melbourne after shooting some fella has been arrested
Depending upon the weather today, we're planning to either go to Seaworld and swim with dolphins or go shooting in Surfer's (or both). Hope to get some "shallow end showboating" in at some point too before we leave Oz tomorrow. The hotel has a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi on the fifth floor which again to the amazement of the locals, offered us the chance of an early evening dip yesterday.
I have to note also that the final bed draw of Australia has been incredibly kind to me and Chris yet again, leaving Carl to suffer the nasal acoustics of Danvers Snr for yet another two nights. His luck has really been bad all week - I hope it picks up later tonight for our trip out to Conrad Jupiter's casino here in Surfer's!
Anyway, I'm off to breakfast.....more to come later.........

Coral and fish and stuff...pretty colours though
. This is reassuring for our Chris's possibilities of getting out of Australia on Friday since they share the same name and in fact they dont look disimilar!Depending upon the weather today, we're planning to either go to Seaworld and swim with dolphins or go shooting in Surfer's (or both).
