Glenn drove up from Brisbane early morning to meet with us and be our driver and quide for the day's trip over to Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world.
Me, Chris and Carl stayed in bed a little longer than planned before the off which gave Mark an opportunity to procure some unexpected and delicious bacon sandwiches (with Brown Sauce to boot for the non-shepshedians!)
The ten minute crossing and subsequent 2 hour ride along the sand was rather uneventful, particularly uncomfortable and frustrating to say the least since the sun was starting to shine and the morning warming up. Nevertheless, we gritted our teeth, closed our eyes and dozed most of the way to the first point of call, MacKenzie Lake. This was the closest thing to paradise and well worth the wait
In typical fashion, shirts were promptly off, towels down and some serious power tanning for a couple of hours.
And then around to the opposite end of the sland to see MacKenzie Jetty for some amazing scenery. We finished off our tour of Fraser with a couple of beers at the Kingfisher Bay Resort before leaving the island again at low tide for the ferry crossing.
Again, yet another long drive of 300+km followed. This place is huge!!!
An early evening arrival in Noosa (on recommendation of various people including Dave Holland) and check in at the Islander Apartments. Cheap as chips and just the ticket for a quick shower, change and out on the town. Our last meal previous had been the bacon roll at 7.00am so needless to say, we ate like kings. An excellent meal at the highly recommended Maisie's restaurant in Noosaville filled a very large gap.
Noosa is an upmarket little coastal town about 150km north of Brisbane and offered us another fun night, predictably incorporating a healthy drinking session!

JAMMY BARSTOOLS!
Kin El! Them there beach shots look a bit special. Takes me back to Clacton on Sea, 1998! Sounds like you are all having the time of your lives in Australia. Hope that Chris has bedded in to our association well, sounds like I may be wrestling him for the Karaoke microphone upon his return! Not missing much here chaps, Leicester was very wet and ordinary last Friday night, the foxes have made a couple of signings, Kishichev from Charlton and a young dutch lad with a gambling addiction! Can't help but notice that controversial 'Hawaian' little number that Mark is sporting in recent footage! No wonder you were all wearing sunglasses!
Have more fun!
