After the lack of sleep and drinking session of immense proportions the previous day, we didnt make it out of bed until 12 noon. Mark arrived at our hotel in Glenn's 4x4 and we started the 500km north along the Bruce Highway to the southerly point of the barrier reef.

Six and a half hours later, we arrived in a little coastal town of 1770, near to Gladstone on the sunshine coast of Queensland. Not a pleasant journey in the back of a shonky jeep limited to 70 mph but we got there in the end. Mark had arranged some excellent accommodation for us at the Sandy Beach complex just out of town in Agnes Water where we were able to reload with steaks of note.

However, the accommodation consisted of just the one room with four beds and couple with the mysterious disappearance of Mark's nasal attachments, we were in for a long sleepless night! He didn't disappoint.
