Good news: Everyone at the office chipped in and purchased a canera for me. It's a Samsung Digimax S500. So far, I really like it. Simple and easy to use with some cool features like tone selection and a double timer so you can jump into the picture. I saw a camera on a Yahoo ad that stills motion- in other words, you can take a shot while you are moving, or while the subject is moving, and it captures a clear image. Pretty neat. Unfortunately, mine doesn't do that. I tried to capture a 5" wing span butterfly (!) yesterday and the pics came out blurry. Oh well.
I've begun packing. My parents bought me a set of luggage as a graduation/going away present. Two 26" and one 22". We had originally bought a 30" also, but this was a bit cumbersome, so we traded for another 26".
I, so far, have about 30 shirts (dress shirts and sport polos) and 30 bottoms (dress pants, skirts and a couple shorts). Plus about ten pairs of shoes (sport shoes, casual shoes, dress shoes, etc). I've been looking over some other people's packing lists and to my dismay, they only packed a week's worth of clothing! My clothes just fit in the two 26" suitcases with some extras like my bike helmet, about ten books and various and other sundry things.
I'm beginning to wonder if I should get rid of some clothes. Afterall, it looks like these other people ( MTU and Scott Allan Wallick) haven't got anywhere near as many clothes as I have. Plus, I DO want to pack light... I know I'll be picking up stuff along the way. I'm weeding out clothes, but it's really hard. I'll post a final packing list when I pack for real.
Also, I got a few Space Saver bags. They are hard to roll up and either I'm not doing it right, or they don't really work, because the space they save is negligible.

Packing
Enjoyed reading your site. I'm lived in Dallas for a time, too.
Anyhow, never mind that packing list of mine. I hardly used any of that stuff. I ended up just getting clothes tailored there. Worked out much better that way.
There was this one guy, Andrew, in my group. He just took this duffel bag with like three changes of clothes. But after we'd been in country a week later, the guy had twice as much stuff as any of us. He was a strange, strange man.
