What is more American than apple pie? Whatever happened to grandma's secret recipe passed down from generation to generation? The taste of a warm homemade apple pie has lost itself in a generation of cell phones and silicone. So what is more American than apple pie?

An SUV (aka a BIG Metal Machine) is more American than apple pie. With its overshadowing presence it towers over miniature-sized foreign sedans as it roars across the highways. Honda Civics and Toyoto Tercels ain't got nothing on these bad boys. Guzzling through gas like a fish that's never seen the ocean these monstrous devils have very little understanding or respect for its surroundings, environment, and humble beginnings. But who can blame them? Like an obese sedan that's seen one too many Texaco's, SUV's have grown up in a world of capitalism and gluttony. It is the epitomy of excess wealth and the tragedy of spirituality lost.

What is more American than apple pie? I don't know but someday I hope it will be something more universal than a sweet tasting dessert or a metal machine. How about a smile for a change?
