2nd - 3rd July 2008

Well after the bustling city of Santiago we decided that weŽd stop at a place called Bahia Inglesia on the Chilean coast, its a well known beach resort and weŽd been told that its warm all year round which sounded great to us! so we hopped on a night bus to Caldera which arrived early the next morning from here its just a short taxi ride to Bahia Inglesia, the lack of sunshine wasnŽt to impressive! but we found a room at a hotel right at the end of the main street which was nice and cheap. Then went for a walk to explore, it was definately not bikini weather :-(  went to an internet cafe to warm up with a coffee and decided that since it wasnŽt what we were expecting that we would get a bus to Calama the following day rather than stay here another night. Its a beautiful place with a gorgeous beach and plenty of wildlife including cranes out on the rocks and a penguin! IŽve never seen a penguin in the wild before and there it was Bushy ssaw it from a distance and pointed it out to me, the next thing we know its come zooming through the water towards us and jumped out of the water about 2ft away then swam round and jumped again before zooming off round the other side of the bay! IŽve never seen anything like it, wicked! unfortunately it all happened so fast we couldnŽt get the camera quick enough but theres one showing him quite far away.

The following morning we got on a bus to Calama from Caldera.
