20th - 22nd June 2008

Well the drive over the Andes wasn't as scary as I expected but it was cold! even on the bus. The scenery was spectacular and my camera was working overtime but although it was pretty to look at I was so glad to get off the bus in Santiago.The hostel we stayed at was really good although we only ended up staying in Santiago for 2 nights because we got a last minute flight to Easter Island! I was so happy about that because it was one of the places that was on my definate to do list before we came out here but I took it off when I found out how much the flights were but we figured we may as well use a chunk of our budget to do it since we're here it seemed crazy not to. So we left our big bags at the hostel and went for 4 nights to Easter Island :-)

The one thing we did do on our first night in Santiago was visit the Thai restaraunt just at the end of our road, man that was so good! I was gasping for a curry and I don't think I've ever eaten so fast! yum!
