B - Morning all, we are just getting used to this so bear with us!! Arrived at Gatwick with 3 hours to spare this morning but managed to be late for the flight and had to run for the plane, (no change there then), arrived in Madrid staying at flat 5 (pic above,) which is not to bad.
After walking around for 2 hours finding the right metro stations and then the room, we are pulling the rucksacks to bits and discarding anything and everything that we don't need. I am way to old for this. (Rachel says i should speak for myself, charming)
R - we stumbled across the Palace Real which was alright, the guards were no where near as disciplined as ours though and wore silly hats (yes sillier than our Palace guards :-) Decided to try out the local tapas late afternoon, which was very nice although we did order Seafood tapas by mistake :-) which was great apart from the suckers on the octopus! but be proud I still tried it...
Siesta time till about 11pm then off to El Junco jazz club to the north of the city, to watch a funky little jazz band and DJ that Bushy took an instant dislike to cos he had too many records few shots of Rum and a couple of beers later and it was 4 am and a cab home.

B - This morning Rachel decided to educate me in the fineries of art!!! (Fighting a loosing battle I think) we visited a gallery, saw a big picture by Picasso that was very impressive, it was black and white, I am sure Rachel will let you know what it was called, apparently it was famous..... it showed all of the smaller sketches that went towards the finished article and even though I am loathed to admit it, it was interesting. I found out that I liked an artist called Someone Luna.. Managed about 2 -3 hours in there before beer called. Went out for a bite to eat in the famous square in Madrid at night but really just wanted to get off to Rio.
R- I think Bushy's pretty much covered it, the Gallery we went to was the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia which holds many paintings by the likes of Picasso, Dali etc... the "big picture by Picasso" that we saw was Guernica . I'm impressed Bushy enjoyed himself J but the beer called for me to believe it or not there's only so much time even I can spend in a gallery!
Flew to Rio de Janeiro the following day, Brazil Baby! (that one was just for you Loren J)
