Today I visited Palisades State Park, which holds the distinction of being South Dakota's smallest state park.  There's about 3 miles or so of hiking trails, along Split Rock Creek.  The creek runs between sheer walls of pink quartzite, and what the park lacks in size it makes up for in beauty.  The various cliffs, outcroppings, and spires make for some great viewing.
