What a night's sleep - first in the campervan and it was really comfortable. We had not managed to unpack or get anything sorted out so we decided to have a quiet day at Michael & Sarah's place. Only woke up at 09h30 just in time to say goodbye to Sarah & Aurora as they went to work & daycare. We spent the morning and early afternoon showering and sorting out / packing the campervan, and exploring around their beautiful garden and the next door farm. The kids had great fun playing with the wooden swords and bow and arrow set that Michael had made and also played for a while outside in her castle/playhouse. It is wonderful to listen to them and see how they use their imaginations!! A bit of wig wearing by the girls which was all good fun. Michael and Aurora got back around 15h30 and she ran off to play with the kids. Soon after Sarah arrived. We spent the rest of the afternoon just chatting and it was great to get to know them. They were heading off to Auckland and so we decided to head up further north. Aurora cried as she didn't want the kids to leave, she is very cute. We left them to finish off their packing and headed up to Inland Rd on the Karikari peninsula/ Doubtless Bay. We drove past rolling hills and green pastures, saw mainly cattle along the way (expected there to be much more sheep!!!) Stopped at Coopers Beach to get some drinks before reaching our final destination. We arrived at Karikari Fisherman's lodge and were warmly welcomed by Yvonne, Darren and their little girl Kaydee. Yvonne is a friend from London, Kerri's sister. We had a bbq and a lovely evening together.
