day. We got there just before opening and the kids got to pet an monitor lizard and a mini-horse. When the park opened we headed straight to Journey to Atlantis, a bit of tears and resistance from Rorke but he still got on the ride, it was brilliant. We all got pretty wet but I was pleased we had taken our rain jackets with us so at least we were partly dry except for Rich. From there we headed to check out the Wild Arctic ride before seeing the Beluga whales, walrus and polar bear. Afterwards we went and watched the show Blue Horizons. A phenomenal show with dolphins, birds, pilot whales and an acrobatic cast which tell a story about a young girl on a journey through the sea and sky. We were not too impressed with the story as we felt that it was not necessary as the animals in themselves were mind blowing. We decided to then go straight over to see One Ocean at the Shamu Stadium and watch Shamu the killer whale and friends put on a spectacular performance
. We sat rather high up on the side so decided to come back later and try and get closer to the action. Unbelievable what they can be trained to do. We then decided it was time to go on Shipwreck Rapids. There was a bit of a queue which went quickly and we were allowed to go in a boat just the 6 of us which was fun. Seeing as we have been on a few rides like this before we were prepared or so we thought. As we came round one of the bends someone had paid to squirt us with water but it wasn't just a squirt it felt like a huge bucket of water had been thrown over all of us, it hit me square in the face! From then on their was no hope we got soaked again I was very thankful for our waterproof jackets so our tops were dry at least. We all got a chance then to pick up and feel a starfish in the nearby tidal pool. The sun was out and it didn't take long for our clothes to dry. We headed then to watch Pets rule at the Pet Stadium. It was a fun show where the animals got to show us what they can do. Great fun to watch. Inbetween all this we had found out it was Halloween spooktacular and they were handing out different kids of candy at different stations around the park, which we all had fun collecting. We hadn't had breakfast or lunch so it kept us going while there. We walked through the Penguin encounter and Turtle reef and went on the Ripride rescue. Rorke was just too short to go on but he was pretty pleased to have to wait on the side, We then headed to Manta. Rich and Courtney joined the queue, we were told it was 40 min so the rest of us headed to watch the Sealion show which was pretty funny
. Got some more candy and headed to meet them only to find out it was a 20 min queue, so the girls and I headed on the ride and Rich watched the boys, what an awesome ride!! Did a child swop and then Rich took Roxton on his first proper roller coaster which he said was superb. We then went on the Bayside SkyRide and SeaWorld Skytower which gave pretty good views of the park and surrounding San Diego area. We then went on some more candy hunting before going through the Turtle reef again and then through the Shark encounter. Then back as a family to watch the Sealion show and the the Manta again for Rich and the 3 kids while Rorke and I went to touch the stingrays and get up close and personal with the dolphins before all of us headed off to watch the killer whales to round off our fantastic day. We got brilliant seats before we ducked in just before it started and sat cheekily in the prestige seats I had noticed at earlier shows that these seats were always taken up by latecomers so decided we would have a go. The show was excellent and it seemed so different watching it at night. Then it was home time, everyone was shattered and the 3 younger ones fell asleep shortly after leaving. We decided to them stop by the food mart and pick up some food for me to put together food at home rather than going to a restaurant. It was a great way to finish off the evening and our time traveling as a family. We have made so many wonderful memories!!!!
This morning there was great excitement as we were heading to Seaworld for the
