We are headed out to the mainland for a 3 day stay at Hamanasi Dive Resort, and the short flight in the 8 seater plane from Ambergris takes only 20 minutes to get to Dangriga, but a harrowing 20 minutes (reminds us of our trip in British Columbia from Vancouver to Williams Lake) . The resort's van is there to transport us and another couple over the bumpy roads to Hamanasi and as we wind our way through the town, we realize that Hopkins and Dangriga have a long long way to go before too many tourists discover it, which may be a good thing. The large deck with adirondack chairs proves to be the perfect lazy venue to relax with a book and refreshing drink at the end of the day. Although we have the all inclusive meal plan and eat our dinners at Hamanasi we decide to use the resort's bikes one day and head into town for a lunch of chicken, tortillas and rice. Sometimes it is the basics that make the best impressions. While we are enjoying our lunch we are entertained by a half dozen young boys from the Lebeha drumming center, practicing their Punta
