Hey guys! Well we survived Rio and headed south to a little town called Angra Dos Reis where we caught the boat over to the most beautiful island called Ilha Grande. We managed to find accomodation in this awesome little house complete with kitchen, balcony, hammocks, two cats and a river running through the back yard. It was also great coz we got to hang out with the Brazilian family who owned the place and Pauley started language sessions in English/Portuguese over arvo beers!

The island has 107 beaches (Wow!) and we trekked to quite a few..the most memorable one was Lopez Mendes, which is a surf beach (check out the photos) and took us three hours to get there, it was definately worth it though coz I could read and sunbake and Pauley could surf..translation: heaven 1.  ! He he! Needless to say we caught the boat home!

So we spent a magical week on the island, exploring old sites from colonial times, checking out waterfalls and chilling on the beach. We ended up sharing the house with a lovely group of poms, one of whom was a chef, so we had a great fish bbq one nite and made caiprihinias...the evening ended in sing alongs and dancing in the kitchen! Perfect! Reminded me of times spent in the Bondi flat, man I miss you all heaps!

Basically it will be very sad to leave this island but we can always come back! From here we get the boat south and then will make our way to Florianopolis to find a cheap apartment to celebrate Christmas in. Take care, hugs to you all! Tutu ben!

And to think that until I saw the photo I thought it was some interesting fish dish!!

Loving the photos of Isla Grande...glad that there wasn't any photos of me and zoe dancing around to Britney eh!! hee hee!!
