After my last blog, we spent a grueling (dont know how to spell it) 13 hours on an overnight coach to Byron Bay, a hippie/party beach resort with nothing to do but go on the beach by day, and go to a club called cheekymonkeys by night!
We checked into Aquarius hostel which had been recomended to us by everyone, and immediately settled into the extremely laid back friendly vibe of the bay- went to the beach and left our room door wide open, like everyone else! Id like to say ive caught a tan, but I still have a major tan line from Israel so cant really tell if any new ones have emerged.
When I got back from sunning my thinning body (eating nothing but pasta out here) we were advised to go and get some wine to drink before clubbing- sounds classy untill you find out that they were refering to a 4 liter BOX of wine!

! lol, so we did just that, and proceeded to drink it by the beach (in a caravan park)!! Its the high life out here for sure! As we couldnt finish off 4 litres, I decided that we should give it away rather that chuck it away (after all, there are people dying of starvation in some countries). The result of this was me knocking on a caravan door (not as random as it sounds, because i could hear laughter and music from the inside), and the lovely people inside inviting us to join in their drinking games- so... into the caravan we clambered, and polished of our wine before moving onto their supply of sambucca!!! This was of course all before we went out clubbing until the early hours of the morning. It was definitely a good start to our time at byron bay. The next day was pretty similar, so I wont bore you with the details, it was our 3rd day a byron that was by far the most random- i would say almost as random as the friday night rabbi meal...!Me and adam were told by some people we were chatting to and the caravan crew that there was a 'leagalise cannabis festival' in the village of Nimbin near byron bay called "Mardigrass", and that everyone was going, so we decided to go with for a laugh, so we booked our bus tickets, and prepared ourselves for an interesting day! In the morning, we climbed abroad an old hippie bus driven by a proper hypie stoner- a bit like Otto from the simpsons, but this one was wearing a tiedye t-shirt, and had less teeth

! He proceded to tell us his life story- getting high off magic mushrooms at the age of 15 and dancing around the streets of Nimbin naked. haha! dont worry tho, he had not had anything in preparation for driving our bus.Nimbin for those that dont know is a one of a kind hippie village in Australia those community has decided that they will allow canabis to be 'legal' in their village, and each year they hold the Mardigrass where people sit around the street, and in Hemp bars smoking cannabis... so you can imagine the wierdos, and hippies that were there- ive got some quality video footage to show you all when i get home of people smoking on benches, and the police in the background 'powerless' against so many people. At one, police women on horses were stroling through the street waving and smiling at people as though it was a parade! proper wierd. Dont worry mum, i didnt take part in their world record attempt to light up the most joints in any one area at the same time.. but i did film it!
After that surreal day of strolling around a drug fest, we prepared again to go to cheekymonkey, and in the process made one of the funniest music videos of all time- worthy of that aisha video, but with better dancing! Twas a good night which finnished in style when me, rob, a half greek, half jewish guy, and a street busker started up a huge street jam with everyone singing and dancing to the acoustic brilliance of Hotel California, among many other classics

! lol, yet another random escapade on our tracvels up the east cost. Now, I am in Hervey bay (5 hours above Brisbane) preparing to go onto Fraiser Island tomorrow. We spent another day on the beach, and have just had a huge amount of incredible watermelon (lauren, i know ur jealous of that!), and Oreo ice cream (Alex, I know ur jealous of that!!), and washed my towel with travel wash (Mum, I KNOW UR JEALOUS OF THAT!!!!!!) lol
Anyway, got to go, pictures to come in the next few hours... depending on whether this is still open, and hope all is well. ...and to be honest im just jealous that your lying back whilst i bust my ass for exams! Sounds like your having an amazing time already mate, closest im going to get to travelling in the next few months is a possible boys trip to Latvia; that is going to get messy! It's Rachel that has an obsession with watermelon but if you're just trying to take the piss out of my healthy eating then you're really funny!
Really good to get another update, am very jealous that u get to go to a drug fest and sunbathe all day whilst i'm trying to revise, which isn't happening too well considering that i've now brought my narg up to notts.
Anyways, keep the blogs coming and I look forward to the next lot of pictures. Cu soon my fellow Powerpuff girl xxxxxxx
