The next stylish footwear to be adorned in the Paul Leck Winter 08 Collection was a pair of crampons. They were entirely excessive for the conditions but the hire place didn't have any ice cleats left. We were heading for Johnston Canyon in Banff National Park and had been warned by Steve that the walkway can get slippy during the winter. As it turned oot it wasn't too bad, mainly packed snow with just a few patches of ice but it was nice to be able to confidently walk along the trail rather than constantly worrying aboot slipping.

The self guided path winds along the side of the canyon past the lower falls and up to the, surprise surprise, upper falls. All in a winter wonderland. The only downside is that you can't really get up close to the ice formations.
